Kevin Jones Named Big East Player of the Week

For the second time in three weeks, a West Virginia Mountaineer has been named the Big East Conference Player of the Week. Senior forward Kevin Jones earned the honors this week for his stellar performances against Tennessee Tech, Missouri State, and Baylor. Jones averaged 23 points and 14.7 rebounds during that three game stretch for West Virginia. He recorded double-doubles in all three games, which gives him eight for the season so far. Huggs Goes For 700th Win In Vegas

Bob Huggins will get his firt shot at 700 wins tonight in Las Vegas when the West Virginia Mountaineers (8-2) take on Missouri State (7-3). 700 wins is obviously a milestone that most coaches in this business will never even come close to, but Huggins refuses to make a big deal about it. “You do this for 30 years you better win some games, or else you’re probably selling insurance,” said Huggins. He can joke about it all he wants, but 700 wins puts him in some...

Great Day To Be A Mountaineer!

It seems like common place for Mountaineer fans to dwell in the deep sorrow of their own self pity, reliving agonizing moments of an opportunity come and gone. I myself have spent many a night looking for redemption at the bottom of a bourbon bottle and desperately attempting to get sound from track ten of Lucero’s severely scratched and scuffed “Tennessee” album. The last four football seasons have been especially burdensome with West Virginia football squandering seemingly strong talent by being pulled beneath the...

Title Game Gaff, RG3’s Heisman, and Geno Snubbed for Big East POY

Why do we even have other conferences at the “FBS” level of college football? The SEC is the best thing since electricity, therefore all other conferences should drop down to FCS and be able compete in an honest play-off style post season. That way the SEC can bag all the TV time and money and basically eliminate all the other trash clogging AP pollster’s ballads. I mean, seriously, what kind of corrupt extortion ring are we supporting that allows a team that doesn’t win...

Last week we posted some photos of the WVU Basketball Practice Facility. Today we have something even better. We stumbled across this video on youtube. It takes you inside and gives you a quick tour of the facility. It’s still a work in progress at this point, but it’s really looking impressive. This new building should be a huge boost to recruiting, and to the improvement of current WVU men’s and women’s basketball players. Let’s Go Mountaineers!
