Camp Preview: Linebackers

The middle of the WVU 3-3-5 defense will have a different look this season. Gone are names like Thomas, Leonard, and Lazear who all saw significant playing time during their time in Morgantown. This years group will have a younger look, but they are ready to compete. The unit showed signs of improvement during the spring, and they look forward to keeping it rolling as camp opens. Mountaineers Land Matteo

West Virginia picked up another big commitment today from Tony Matteo. The 6’5, 280-pound offensive center from Akron, Ohio is a physical kid that plays with a nasty streak. It appears that Matteo’s strong relationship with Mountaineer Offensive Line Coach Bill Bedenbaugh had a lot to do with his decision to commit to WVU. Matteo is listed as a three star center by rivals.com. They list him as the #13 ranked center nationally and the #56 overall player in the state of Ohio.  Tony has...

Camp Preview: Offensive Line

It all starts up front. That’s something the Mountaineer big men are aware of. They are the frontline of an aerial and ground attack the Big East has never seen, and they like it. Bedenbaugh was the offensive line coach and co-offensive coordinator at Arizona last season. Coach Bedenbaugh is excited to be a Mountaineer. “West Virginia has a lot of history and tradition, has...
