WVU freshmen walk-on guard Paul Williamson has been granted his release from the West Virginia basketball program according to WVU SID Bryan Messerly. WV Metro News and WV Illustrated are both reporting that he is expected to transfer to Fairmont State with new head coach, and former WVU assistant Jerrod Calhoun. According to multiple reports, WVU is close to finalizing a deal to play a two-game series in basketball with Virginia Tech. The plan is to play the first game in Morgantown in 2012-2013 then play in Blacksburg the following season. Head coach Bob Huggins recently said that they had one non-conference game to fill on the schedule and it appears it will be the Hokies.
