Camp Preview: Linebackers

The middle of the WVU 3-3-5 defense will have a different look this season. Gone are names like Thomas, Leonard, and Lazear who all saw significant playing time during their time in Morgantown. This years group will have a younger look, but they are ready to compete. The unit showed signs of improvement during the spring, and they look forward to keeping it rolling as camp opens. Athey Transfers

It’s been reported that freshman WVU QB Brian Athey has left the program.  Athey will transfer to Illinois State, and will be eligible to play this season.  Brian was listed at third on the depth chart. The loss leaves WVU a little thin at the quarterback position. Behind Geno Smith is true freshmen Paul Millard and redshirt freshmen Scotty Frisina. We wish Brian the best of luck with his future. He is a very crisp route runner and catches the ball well away from his body. Miami Central is known for producing great talent, and Joyner appears to be the next in line. He has been...
